Nortel Networks IP Softphone 2050
For employees that work from home or spend a lot of time on the road, the Nortel Networks IP Softphone 2050 (formerly known as the i2050 Software Phone) is an ideal choice. As long as you have a high speed internet connection, users with the IP Softphone 2050 installed on their desktop or laptop have full access to the range of business communications tools provided by their company's Nortel phone system.
Once the phone software is installed, simply connect to the internet and plug an approved headset into the USB port of your computer and you're ready to go!
You must have a Nortel Networks USB Audio Kit to use the Software Phone. The USB Audio Kit enables you to hear and speak with your callers and includes:
- USB Headset Adapter
- Installation Guide (English and French)
- USB cord
- Telephony grade monaural headset
- Lower cordset with quick disconnect

- Local generation of call alerting, call progress and dialpad tones saving LAN/WAN bandwidth

- Voice Activity Detection and Silence Suppression support reduces unnecessary traffic across the WAN
- Online help with full index search capabilities
- USB audio kit with telephony optimized sound card ensures superior audio quality
- Customer selectable audio interface options, including support for various 3rd party headsets as well as a Nortel Networks handset
The IP Softphone 2050 is supported by multiple Nortel Networks communication systems, including Business Communications Manager (BCM), Communication Server 1000 and 1000M, Communication Server 2100, Meridian 1 and Meridian SL-100.
