Cable Bids

In order to bid your property, HOTELtelecom must have a set of your plans. We require the  A&E prints for all floors. We will provide bids on the following items.

Some variables that may effect the bid are:

1. Conduit from the jack stubbed out into the hallway
2. A centrally located telecommunications room.
3. Drilling access holes through headers and studs if no conduit is run.

Material costs will be cable, jacks, faceplates, and support material for cable runs in hallways.

Conduit - We suggest that conduit be run from the low voltage box (jack location) into the hallway for the following reasons:

1. Conduit allows the installation of the low voltage cable (TV, Telephone, Computer) to be done even after the drywall has been put up.
2. Provides better protection for low voltage cables.
3. Future Growth. If at any time in the future you need to replace a damaged cable or you would like to add another phone line or add a computer cable, the installation would be quick and inexpensive compared to having to take the sheet rock down to access the walls interior.

1. Telephone Lines - Typically there would be no distance limitations in a hotel for the telephone lines.
2. Computer Cabling (Cat 5 cable) should be limited to 300 ft.

Prior to the low voltage installation are the following should be completed:

1. Low voltage boxes installed.
2. Conduit (if any) installed.
3. Sheet rock (if no conduit), cannot be placed in rooms that have not yet had the low voltage wiring installed. If all of these items are completed in the entire hotel prior to the installation crew arriving, the job can be completed in one trip, avoiding additional charges.
